RePlaCart: Research and Innovation for the Future of Recycling

Our commitment goes beyond high-performance molding for industrial sectors: we put our know-how to work in projects focused on sustainability, innovation, and circular economy.

RePlaCart is a research and development project led by Cooplat, a national cooperative operating in facility and maintenance services, co-funded by Regione Toscana and European Cohesion Funds – Italy 2021–2027. The initiative brings together MPT Plastica, Revet (a leader in integrated waste management), Replast (specialized in masterbatch and plastic additives), UNIFI, Distretto Interni Design (a Tuscan innovation network for furniture and design) e DonatiSRL, experts in 2D and 3D design.

The goal:
to test and develop new production models for converting recycled plastic bottles into an innovative, eco-friendly composite polymer — one with wide-ranging applications in the near future.

MPT’s Role
We actively contributed to this virtuous production chain through:
✔ technical analysis and codesign;
✔ production feasibility assessments and molding trials;
✔ final mold design for the trolley manufacturing phase.

The Result
RePlaCart is set to become a practical, durable, and scalable cleaning trolley — co-designed by multiple partners, built to last, and born from a sustainable business model where recycling plays a central role at every step.

Stay tuned:
we’ll soon share more about the operational results and real-world applications of this collaborative, forward-looking initiative focused on the future of materials.
