Evolution is a matter of trust, as well as precision.

Andrea Scaglini proves it every day. He joined MPT in 2016 as a milling machine operator, gaining hands-on experience in the workshop: from turning to thermal processes, learning each machine inside out – its critical points and its most challenging operations.

Step by step, that foundation became the basis for his growth into the role he holds today: Head of CNC Programming, where he coordinates a team of four people.

“When you program a machine, you can’t just think about production: you need to picture what happens in the workshop, what the risks of failure are, and which limits must be respected. Practical experience helps me translate theory into safe, reliable cycles.”

Over the past nine years, Andrea has witnessed the company change its pace: the arrival of the first next-generation lathe, the evolution of interfaces, and completely renewed machining strategies.

“I approached each new technology as an extension of the skills I already had. Internal
training did the rest: it allowed us to adapt quickly, without fear of changing methods.”

Today, the department Andrea leads works with:
  • 6 milling machines running 24/7
  • 1 next-generation lathe internally configured for MPT’s specific needs
  • 3 lathes and 2 milling machines for less frequent operations
  • 2 sinker EDM and 1 wire EDM for the most complex details
But technology alone is not enough. Efficiency also comes from sharing expertise and teamwork. Andrea coordinates two full-time programmers and supports two other colleagues who alternate between programming and hands-on machine work.
Because what one person learns immediately becomes everyone’s shared knowledge.
“Saying ‘we’ve always done it this way’ is not a strategy. The past is a reference point, but moving forward requires trust in change.”
