Barriers that smash but don’t break for Barret!

The European Football Championship has just ended, and the images of players training between matches are still fresh in our minds. In addition to being fans, we also have a longstanding collaboration with Barret Srl, a renowned company based in Cecina (Livorno) that designs and manufactures technical equipment for physical and tactical training in football and many other sports.

Years ago, we worked with them to develop an innovative barrier figure, the result of a co-design process with the client, which still meets the needs of coaches and players worldwide.

The Barret Barrier Figure is made of fiberglass-reinforced technopolymer, a material that ensures lightness, flexibility, and super-resistance. These properties make it ideal for withstanding frequent impacts during training and thermal excursions, being used in various countries from Africa to Northern Europe.

The true value of the Barret Barrier Figure lies in its collaborative design. MPT Plastica worked closely with the client to find the right combination of flexibility and resistance. This co-design approach allowed us to identify the specific needs of end users and develop a solution that perfectly met their expectations.

The mold features a five-point sequential injection system that allows for uniform filling. CAE analysis was used to optimize filling and prevent any deformation post molding.

The molding process was meticulously controlled to avoid material deterioration, ensuring that each figure maintained its mechanical and resistance properties over time. Additionally, the mold is designed to be adaptable, allowing the production of two types of figures (one for adults and one for children) with the same equipment, optimizing production costs. Furthermore, each figure base is co-molded with four galvanized steel spikes for positioning on natural ground or on a figure cart.

The Barret Barrier Figure is designed to provide optimal support during football training. Its lightness makes it easy to transport and position, while its impact resistance ensures long-lasting durability. The flexibility of the material and the presence of co-molded galvanized steel spikes allow for secure and stable positioning on any surface, whether natural ground or training carts.

Numerous professional and amateur teams use the Barret Barrier Figure to improve the precision and effectiveness of their training. Its presence on training fields helps prepare players optimally, enhancing the quality of shooting and defense sessions.
